• Resistance Test: When the tool is in this mode, touch the probe tip to the circuit and the LCD display will read the resistance between the tip and the auxiliary ground lead.
• Diode Test: In this mode, touch the probe to the positive terminal of the diode, connect the auxiliary ground wire to the negative terminal of the diode, and the screen will display the forward voltage drop, indicating the forward bias. If the probe tip and auxiliary ground lead are swapped, the screen will show no voltage, indicating reverse bias.
• Signal Circuit Test: Once you extract from the vehicle and realize that the troubleshooting starts with some kind of sensor circuit, you can perform a quick test to verify the code. Sensors can be easily tested while using the tool.
• Test Trailer Lights and Connections: With the tool in DC voltage mode, clamp the auxiliary ground lead to the trailer ground, probe the contacts at the jack, and apply voltage to the probe tip. This allows you to check the function and orientation of the connectors and trailer lights.
