The Book of Revelation: The Return of Christ to Reign Victoriously

This is a coursebook on the Book of Revelation designed for either self-study or for small-group study and interaction. It is laid out in twelve lessons with each lesson divided into 3-4 "topics" that cover the entire Book of Revelation. Along with the commentary—thorough but not overly technical—there are study questions throughout each lesson to help the reader check his or her comprehension, a self-check quiz at the end of each lesson, and finally four Unit Exams. Also, each topic of each lesson ends with an applicational question to ponder and respond to, in keeping with the principle that the Bible is not just given to serve our intellect but to transform our lives. Numerous maps and charts are included to help with comprehension. The author, J. Paul Tanner, has been teaching the Book of Revelation for forty years. In addition to a ThM degree from seminary in which he studied New Testament Greek, he holds a PhD in Hebrew Literature and Culture from the Univ of Texas at Austin. He is also the author of the much-acclaimed commentary on Daniel for the Evangelical Exegetical Commentary series.
