"The Pedestal. The Prison. The Promise," Is an autobiography. It describes my childhood, infancy, primary and tertiary education and later my 35 years in the Fiji Civil Service of which 31 was co-jointly spent with the Royal Fiji Military Forces which was later renamed Republic of Fiji Military Forces following Fiji first ever coup d'etat on 14 May 1987. It describes my many official overseas visits accompanying the late Ratu Sir Penaia Kanatabatu Ganilau, then serving as Fiji second local Governor General and later became Fiji first ever President after the country was proclaimed the republic following 1987. My autobiography recalls visiting Buckingham Palace, the Vetican in Rome on three occasions, attending the General Assembly at the UN Headquarters in New York, lunch with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak at his Palace in Cairo, dinner with Pakistani leader Benazir Bhutto in Faisalabad, an audience with Melaysian Priminister Dr Mahathir in Guala Lumpur in 1989 and flying in the now decommissioned Concorde from London to New York in 1983. It also contains my stories on rebel takeover of the Fiji Parliament in May 2000 and how my country had not fully known of my actions in assisting long time Fijian leader Ratu Sir Kamisese Kapaiwai Tuimacilai Mara solve what would have been a constitutional crisis of unpresedented proportion; How I wrote elections campaign speeches for Dr Timoci Bavadra catapulting the Vuda private practitioner into power as Prime Minister in 1987; How I joined the Management team of the Fiji Rugby side to the inaugurial World Cup in 1987 in New Zealand and sort the influence of witchcraft, voodooism and ancestral gods to ensure our victory against Hugo Porta Argentina in Fiji first pool encounter and watching the Esala Teleni captained Fiji Rugby side with both Ratu Sir Penaia and Ratu Sir Kamisese at Twickenham and Murrayfield in 1989. It also has stories of praying at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem with Ratu Penaia in 1983. It also has stories of my attending whilst in my early teens one of the best boys school in Marist Brothers in Suva Fiji Islands in the 1970s. Read more
