Unconscious but still breathing, a man lay sprawled on the bedroom floor in a pool of his own blood in his opulent estate in Las Vegas. A nightmarish scene began to unfold. The victim lying on the floor was named Paul Branson, owner of a large hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip. This historical fiction story is about a penniless family of six that came from Hyrum, Utah. In the '50s, they went from building homes to owning a casino and motel on the Las Vegas Strip. It spans over four decades, from 1952 to 1997, and dives into their heritage from Denmark in the 1800s. This is a story of love, ambition, betrayal, and endurance with a family's search for meaning beneath layers of secrets and sorrow. Two main characters, Paul and Pearl Branson, lead the family. During the family's success, one was kidnapped and held for ransom; they faced mob threats, murders, and family lawsuits. To add to the mystery, a son vanished and was presumed murdered by a family member. But through all the tragedy, their young children grew up in what seemed to be normal family lives. Normal, as in if your parents didn't have emotional barriers to showing love.Much ended in 1997 with the death of the leader. The answer may be in my clues. What happened to him? Help me find the answer. Read more
